Baikal Winteriada 2009
The diploma is issued by The Irkutsk Award Group.Baikal Winteriada 2009
The diploma is issued in connection with the 6th Baikal Winteriada - The International Baikal Nordic Games Festival of extreme kinds of winter sports (among them: - a ski transition over Baikal lake, 190 km on skates over the ice of the lake, races on snowmobiles, a dog sledding, fishing from under the ice etc.) This year a very impressive "A Baikal ice sculpturing contest is held". Within the schedule of the Winteriada 2009 a station on ice of Baikal lake will work on bands.
The special station UE0SZB (Siberia Zimniada Baikal) will work from there. "Zimniada" is "Winteriada" in Russian.
(The winter is absolutely mild at lake Baikal this year and the thickness of the ice is not as thick as years before. It is looks like the station will work on 5-6 of March 2009
During the time when the Winteriada is held ( February, 23 2009 till March, 10, 2009) radio stations with special callsigns will work:

Terms of the diploma
Two QSOs with special stations or 1 with a special station and 3 stations from Irkutsk area (UA0S..) must be provided during the time of Winteriada (from 23 Feb 2009 year(including) till 10 Mar 2009 year(including).
HAMs who would make the most number of QSOs with special stations and stations of Irkutsk area will be marked by prizes. For this nomination we need your extract from the log sent before March 31, 2009. Via email - OK.
The application for the award (diploma) can be sent during 2009 year.
Valid QSOs are - at any bands and with any modes. Repeated QSOs are permitted on different bands and with different modes and at different days. (E.g. one can work everyday with the same Irkutsk station and get one point for every QSO per day.) The diploma could be got by SWLs at the same terms.
Send an extract from the log and 6 IRC (or green stamps) to get diploma.

RK0SYY is a club station created by Irkutsk Award Group.
The station is on a coast of lake Baikal in Listvyanka village.
The team of the station carry out various expeditions over lake Baikal, visiting islands,
and working from other places around Baikal lake.
You can also take part in the work of the station and expeditions.
